Come along and meet Santa at Tescos, he's busy this time of year so he'll only be around between 10am till 4pm.
Over 150 volunteers from at least 15 different charities will be knocking on doors across the city this December letting you know that Santa and his sleigh are about to pass your door. With sweets for children, they will be asking for small donations to their great causes - with all your money being donated to local charities and good causes in the Winchester area. Please do support them and make them feel welcome.
Hours and hours of work throughout the year have gone into creating the Santa Sleigh for Winchester, and we couldn't have done this work without significant donations, time and commitments from some key sponsors.
This year, we've been able to carry out essential refurbishment work to the sleigh on a very small budget thanks to their kind assistance.
“Winchester 6th Scouts had such fun escorting Santa’s sleigh around Hyde and Abbotts Barton last December. It was a bitterly cold evening, but a troop of Scouts, Cubs and Beavers knocked on doors and collected for a multitude of good causes. We were lucky enough to have enough funds given to us by Winchester Round Table to be able to purchase some event shelters, tents and also other smaller camping equipment.
It is invaluable to us to be able to purchase this equipment to enable our ever-growing Scouts, Cubs and Beavers to partake in exciting, mainly outdoor activities. We know the Round Table work hard to pull this venture off and it's the benefit of not just those charities that are picked but also all children of Winchester.
Colden Common School Association elves had a fantastically festive evening escorting the Round Table Santa Sleigh around Winchester in 2017. The generosity of Winchester residents was so inspiring. As a local school, we were so grateful to receive a donation from the Round Table towards our fundraising goal of providing interactive iPads to each classroom, bringing a new dimension to the children's leaning.
We are looking forward to supporting the Round Table again this year and would recommend the Santa Sleigh as an essential event for every Winchester residents festive calendar!
We would like to thank you so much for involving us with the fundraising with The Santa Sleigh at Christmas! It was so lovely to see the whole community come together for the evening not only to fundraise but to help and support All Saints Preschool.
The Magical look on the children’s faces as Santa travelled around was amazing and so many families joined us along the way, it truly was a magical evening. The money we raised helped All Saints Preschool move forwards tremendously. Finally we have Internet via a Bluetooth dongle, this has opened up so many opportunities for the staff and children as the Church have not been able to get a land line or broadband which left us limited.
